Motion Design

– I felt inspired to have an object that could be a “Hero”-character (main character) that would lead you through the video.

– Because my previous concept contained a rather “com- plex” character I got triggered to go in the complete other direction on my second concept. I chose to use a rather undetailed object: a dot (small square).

– To emphasize the power of this object I wanted the video to be entirely as little detail as possible, without getting boring.

– The object would lead the eye through the video and em- phasize each of the categories in its own playful order.

– The object would change position, scale, speed, behav- iour and therefore trigger the visibility of each category.

Presentation:

Focal point: Mainly focus on the storyteller “the square dot”

Framing: Using the grid in AE making sure the object is in the visually interesting frame, having focus on staying in the center. Moving camera to adapt to the best framing.

Lines: Reveal animations, dot movement
Space/Position: A lot of negative space, positioned in center

Perspective/Depth: Adapt to camera realistic, ex: going through makes the object moving closer blurr out slightly, where- as the object it’s moving towards goes from unvisible to visible.

Balance/Hiearchy: Positioning and movement creates balance together.

Scale/Volume: Changing to make it more visually interesting

Pattern/Rythm: Adjusting bezier curves to make animation more “smooth and sleek”, more realistic.

Value/Contrast: High contrast with black and white Color: Black and white predominantly, except DA logo

Music: Add music that relates to the theme of the night and suits the style of the video:
